Minus is making another splash on Android devices with its latest update, which gives you the ability to view your friends profiles directly from the app. You can now also search for users and files and various bugs have been ironed out from the previous version!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Minus, it is yet another cloud file sharing service, very similar to Dropbox & Box.net – but with some key differences. Firstly, with their new version they have launched a promotion where if you sign up . Once you’ve signed up, you can invite friends and family to join in on the fun and you’ll gain 1GB more storage for each person you refer, for a total of 50GB free cloud storage!

Read on for more details and features of Minus!

Dropbox pails in comparison to Minus on that front, because the most you can get without paying is 5GB (and that’s with the new beta version!) For LG users, Box.net offers 50GB of space, but the others are left high and dry. With both DropBox and Box.net, you can only upload 300MB/100MB files respectively. As most of you know, ROMs and other files you may need to store are often much bigger than these limits. With Minus, you can upload files up to 2GB in size. That’s a huge difference for the power-user with large files.

Minus is also by far the most “social” cloud experience. You can follow people and they can follow you, much like Twitter. With Minus you have a private box (that only you can see) and a public box (where you can share files with friends, followers and the general public). This is extremely useful for Android developers who want to upload their private ROM beta’s to the same account that they can share the public releases to, all for free. Minus is also completely cross-platform, with apps for the iPhone & Android phones, programs for Windows & Mac users and a web interface for on the go.

If you are in need of some cloud storage and want the ability to share files with friends or simply want to bypass DropBox & Box.net’s silly upload limits, Minus is the way to go. . If you download the app via the Android Market and sign up there, you will only start with 10GB free.

Once you’ve signed up, head over to the Android Market on your Le Pan TC970/TC979 and !

I had minus before and had to uninstall it, uploads and downloads would always fail no matter what I was on WIFI or 3G/4G. Hopefully this new update fixes that issue.
